An Xbox 360 Laptop?

Will wonders never cease…. Before I jump into the story, take a look at this xbox mod.

Before I go off on my own tangent, let me give credit where credit is due, I found the article on PopSci.com, and recommend you take a look. This box was built by Ben Heckendorn’s game-console creations. They have previously created a portable Atari 2600 to a pocket-sized Nintendo 64, and are justifiably famous in the modder world. This laptop takes the cake though….

An excerpt from the article:

“To shoehorn a full 360 into the 2.25-by-16-by-12-inch case and keep it playable, Heckendorn had to install fans and speakers and redo the internal layout of the machine several times. He then rewired the console to output the video to the 17-inch LCD display, on which he mounted an Xbox Live Vision camera for online multiplayer games.

For the exterior, he coated the aluminum case with plastic engraving material, allowing him to paint hexagonal designs in gold on the marbled green surface. Always eager for a new challenge, and already having built a Wii laptop, Heckendorn has moved on to creating a portable version of the PlayStation 3.”

Anyone see this Xbox Mod article? Seems like even Microsoft is getting into the case mods market. I wouldn’t mind this case given that their will only be 100 available in the world to use. Not really sure what the president of South Korea is going to do with this particular beauty. Maybe he will add some mod chips and a water cooler for lat night gaming with his secretary of defense….

Love this article on Watercooling the xbox 360. The watercooling mods are great but seem kinda risky to me.

Also I have added a reference for the intercooler unit sold by amazon he refers to in his article.

Also added a link to this performance kit that has the Intercooler and more goodies.

Found this video on YouTube the other day and thought is was pretty cool. It is basically a how to , step by step on how to do some pretty advanced stuff. There was a bunch of good info on the page and other videos, in case you want to check out more. This video was put together by Honda Racer X360, and if you are any good at this, you should be able to follow and try this yourself.

GTA 4 early release date

Here’s the basic info:

The release date for GTA 4 for pc is in the manual of the Xbox 360 version of GTAIV. It looks like on December 13, 2008 Niko and Roman will show up on your Windows start menu to help you ring in the holiday season. The details are foggy on what, if any additional GTA4 PC version features will be included, and in particular if it will be a Vista-only release and what the minimum hardware requirement will be - Might be a good idea to get the latest Alienware hardware so you don’t have to cry in your stocking….

There are a ton of case mods for the Xbox 360 out there if you’re interested. I grabbed some shots of some pretty cool ones and posted them here. One source that has a pretty wicked selection is TechFresh.net. Here are a few:
